Now Hiring - Sales Representative in Pawtucket, RI

RI's Arts and Entertainment Magazine seeks customer rep/sales associate. Base plus commission. The position requires attendance at a weekly sales meeting in Pawtucket RI; otherwise you set your own hours but are expected to communicate regularly with the home office. We are looking for someone to put in about 40 hours per week. The chosen candidate will also receive a starter customer base, training, and will be introduced to some customers, but will also be expected to cold call, attend networking opportunities and find new customers.

This is an outside sales position. The ideal candidate is organized and responsible, with strong follow-through. You should be passionate about the arts and entertainment scene in RI. Self-starter with energy and motivation. Ideally 1-3 years outside sales experience.

Perks include admission to shows and events in music, theater, food and more. If you enjoy talking about the arts and interacting with people in the field and with mid-sized business owners and marketers, you’ll find this opportunity very exciting.

Location: Statewide, but Motif’s headquarters is in Pawtucket, where you will be expected to show up at least twice a week for sales meetings, and where you’ll have office space you can use. During the training experience, you’re likely to hit the office almost every work day.

About Motif: Motif Magazine is dedicated to the arts and entertainment in RI and surrounding areas, and to bringing readers alternative local news about subjects of all kinds. Motif was established to bring to light some of the amazing music, arts and culture happening around Rhode Island that was escaping coverage by the media. It’s also dedicated to news and investigative reporting that’s not corporate-owned.

The magazine was founded in 2004. Since 2012, Motif has been published by Mike Ryan, who focuses on making the listings and coverage as comprehensive as possible – online and on paper. In addition to creating a website and social media presence, Motif is heavily involved in community events and we're always developing ideas to enhance brand recognition.

Motif is online, podcasting, producing video and publishes a free paper, supported in its mission by generous advertisers, and distributed monthly to over 1,100 locations around RI with a readership of 75,000 or more. Issues are typically kept on hand by readers for up to two weeks.
